Hitec's 65MG is a fantastic general purpose servo, appropriate for wings in the 30-40" wingspan size class. Hitec's reliable internal analog circuit saves cost over this servo's digital variant, the 5065MG. HS-65MGs have operated inside Team-Legit projects since we began flying FPV in the early 2010's... fair to say we owe a lot of flights to them!
The HS-65MG is a micro-size (Hitec uses the term "feather") servo, meaning it's case depth measurement is ~12mm and it's weight is ~12g. Application examples would be the Team Legit Fohdy, or the Legit Wing Classic 32.
Optional Aluminum Arm
HS-65MG comes with a set of nylon servo arms. Hitec makes a high-quality aluminum arm sold separately, which mates to the HS-65MG's 23T-5 output shaft. Aluminum arms benefit from not only increased durability, but also increased rigidity which improves control response. This increased rigidity is especially relevant when using off-center control schemes such as ball links... common on the flying wing aircraft we love!
Considered one of the most powerful servos in the micro class, the HS-65 is offered with a choice of “shock resistant” Metal or “zero wear” Karbonite gears. The 65 series features a top-ball bearing for long life and positive centering, 31 ounces/inches of power at 6 volts and is an excellent choice for higher performance micro helicopters, electric park flyers, and 1/18 scale cars.
