Team Legit is excited about this little guy!  Himax's 40A ESC is part of the new generation of compact airplane ESCs...meaning that, taking lessons from the miniquad world, it is lighter-weight and more compact than old-school aero ESCs.  BLHeli_S firmware gives this ESC wonderfully smooth and quiet start-up throttle response.  It is also has no problem running smaller, high-RPM outrunner brushless motors.  An impressive 6A switching BEC handles hungry servos.  All this at a great price!

With reasonable cooling, Himax rates this ESC for a constant power of 600 watts with a 4S battery, and 900 watts on 6S!

Throttle range is adjustable with your RC handset.  All other functions can be adjusted via the BLHeli Suite software (link below).  Brake-On-Stop is disabled by default.  This ESC can be connected to a PC for adjustment via either a Flight Controller passthrough, or with a dedicated throttle-to-USB dongle such as the Cobra USB Link Programmer, available by clicking here.

Please read through the ESC's user manual (download below) for more details on this ESC's function.

Features
- New generation 32bit micro processor and official BLHeli_S firmware, quick throttle response and
superb performance compared to widely used classic 8bit ESCs.
- Strong switching-type BEC to supply abundant power to new generation digital servos and electronics.
- One physical button to change the propeller rotation modes for 3D and 4D airplanes. Press and
hold the button for 10 seconds to change the rotation mode.
- Small size and light weight, best for 3D and 4D indoor competition foamy airplanes.
- Open source BLHeli_S firmware can be upgraded via the throttle signal line. Parameter settings can
be easily changed with BLHeli Suite program.
- Support common PWM throttle mode, OneShot125?OneShot42, MultiShot, and DShot150/ 300/
600 protocols.
- Suitable for high KV brushless motors commonly used in push airplanes which many classic ESCs do
not work well.

Manufacturer ESC amperage ratings are estimates.  Proper function of any ESC at high loads will depend on several outside factors, such as environmental conditions and how the ESC is installed into your application.  Access to cooling is essential.  It is your responsibility to verify proper function of your equipment.  Team-Legit recommends testing new builds by gradually easing up to full performance over several flights/runs.
